Integrated Photonics Solutions

for Your Industry

Optical Communications & Interconnects

Integrated photonics has been adopted in fiber optic communications for about 30 years, from the entrance of externally/electroabsorption-modulated lasers (EMLs) and SiO2 planar lightwave circuits (PLCs) based array waveguide grating (AWG) in the telecom bubble era, to the amazing realization of InP fully integrated tunable lasers and transmitters at the beginning of the new century, to the boom of Si photonics finding applications everywhere from datacenters to telecom networks (and beyond) in the last decade. Photonic integrated circuits (PICs) represents the frontier of optical communications from km optical links all the way down to chip-level interconnects.

LiDAR and 3D Sensing

LiDAR, as an attractive technological choice for 3D sensing, is gaining momentum in many applications from autonomous driving, robotics, mapping to facial recognition and AR gaming in both industrial and consumer spaces. Integrated photonics provide unique values in shrinking bulky optical LiDAR devices or systems into chip level and reducing cost and packaging complexity. Si photonics based optical phased arrays (OPA) and coherent receivers are making their way into may LiDAR companies' menu and highly integrated low-cost and compact lasers are demanded everywhere.

Optical Computing

Photons no longer limit themselves to merely transmitting information but are penetrating into the field of processing. Especially with the current wave of artificial intelligence (AI), exponential demands for deep neural network learning and inference computing drive novel and unconventional data processing approaches including using photonics where integrated photonics especially Si photonics shows its strength in scalability and manufacturability.

Chemical and Bio Sensing

Optics presents a wide range of wavelength, polarization and amplitude properties that can be exploited by a variety of spectroscopy and imaging technologies for many applications. Integrated photonics converts conventional optical instrument into a dramatically shrunk lab-on-a-chip platform that enables low cost, portability and ubiquity.
